| Fledhyris Proudhorn | 'Fledge' for short, this is the online identity by
which I am known in a variety of forums including LiveJournal, Second
Life, AIM and various slashfiction fandom circles.
I am British, female, married and in my mid-thirties. Since before puberty, I have preferred closeness and romance between same-sex couples over the wider and more traditional range of 'het' romance in books and the media. I am interested in things which are different from the 'norm', new perspectives, human behaviour and social alternatives, and am an avid fan of science and fantasy fiction, which tend to explore these things. I am a biologist by education and a very keen naturalist, but am looking to a freelance career in editing so that I can work from home while raising my new baby. 'Need' (in this zine) is my first published original work of fiction.
